Lord Shri Nath Ji 18 Carat Gold Leaf Kamalkari Handmade Traditional Pichwai Painting ~ Gopi Bhaav ~

This handmade Pichwai painting depicts 7 years old infant incarnation idol of Lord Krishna , adored in the form of Lord Shri Nath Ji who ordains the Shri nath ji temple situated in the Nathdwara city of Rajasthan.

This Painting has been made using a popular Pichwai theme called “Kamal Talai” in which a lotus pond is used in back drop of the sanctum of lord ShriNath Ji depicting the summer season. This theme takes inspiration from Ashstachhapa poems wherein lotuses are used as a metaphor for lord Krishna’s beloved gopikas.

The ShriNath Ji Idol ilustrated in this painting shows the typical posture of him holding the Govardhan Parvat in one hand and a Basuri along with lotuses in another. His eyes, big and deep like lotus petals is a characteristic of the traditional Nathdwara school of Indian painting style.

Gopi bhaav pichwai narates the bhaav of love and devotion of gopikas and the cows towards their beloved Shrinath ji as apparent by the postures of gopikas in this painting.

The base of this pichwai handmade painting is a hand spun cotton cloth. all colors used in this painting are made of natural stone pigments with 18 carat real gold leaf work.

Size of this unframed art is 3 * 2 feet.
